Hey friends!
I have another "Welcome" sign
for your door.
I know -
I keep rolling with
painted canvas panels.
But as I keep coming up with new design ideas
I like to share them with you.
This is really a basic design
that should be easy to replicate.
Here is a template that you can use.
Use a 16 x 20 canvas panel.
Paint off white.
Shade with Folkart Camel on the edges.
You can use a clear glaze to help blend your edges.
But you don't have to use glaze
if you want to see more of a brush stroke.
Pencil transfer your pattern onto the canvas.
Use camel and dark chocolate for the ribbon.
Dark Chocolate for liner brush lettering.
Use camel and suede for brushing in the nest circle
with a larger chip brush.
Paint the center Americana Dark Chocolate.
Using a shabby smaller chip brush,
keep it fairly dry by off loading paint onto paper towel.
Use camel, suede, or raw sienna
keeping a light amount of paint on your brush,
use a criss cross motion making x's around the edge
of the circle.
Should be a light and airy effect - rough edge.
Now with a small angle brush
make more x marks around nest edge.
Chalk transfer eggs in nest.
Prime or paint off white.
Layer sea breeze and aqua
leaving tops and lefts of eggs white.
Drop shadow on bottom right.
Splatter nest and eggs brown.
Chalk transfer lettering for "Welcome" on ribbon.
Liner Brush for lettering.
Grommets and Burlap ribbon for hanging.
Simple and Sweet.
You could put any number of eggs in your nest.
You could even personalize each egg.
Happy Painting!
Deb
