Oh the places
we live and love
and what makes them special.
What about jotting your journey down
in word art.
And what about
putting it on something practical
like these folding trays.
It was Jeanne's idea.
She had these TV Trays...
nothing special.
We'll change that in a hurry
with a little bit of paint.
Aquas, Sea greens, Raw Sienna,
Hazelnut Brown, Black, and Camel
will do the trick.
Good ol' Dip and Drag.
Read about that Here,
On this project I taped off the lines
for the lettering,
chalked in the words,
and painted with a small flat brush.
There's a little Raw Sienna Shade
and a liner brush shadow.
Great Conversation Pieces!
Thanks for stopping by,
Deb

One time I thought about doing a subway art chest with all our military stops & stays. Love this idea you all came up with to make those trays special! Do you hand letter all your signs? You are even more amazing than I already thought if you do!
Those are awesome!! They turned out much better than mine would...you're far more talented than I. Don't forget to link up to The DIY'ers! http://homecomingmn.blogspot.com/search/label/The%20DIY%27ers
What a cute idea! Love the idea of making your memories linger everytime you sit down to eat!!

Deb those are beautiful. So personal and I love the handpainted charm and mix of colors. Now you've got me thinking about our tv trays which the kids love to set up for 'office'!
You could also do just simple solid stripe colors to simplify.
totally love this idea and the finished product!! completely awesome!
I wish you could have seen my jaw drop when I saw the picture of those trays. Literally. You rock Deb. What a fabulous idea. Love love love love it. Pinning it to dream. I could never make mine look like that! Have a great day!

That is the cutest idea! I am an Expat in Germany and people are always moving in and out and that would be a great going away gift!! Thanks so much

lived, since birth, and gave up.. too
many to count...

nice! We have some TV trays that the kids have out All.The.Time. It never occurred to me that I could do something to actually make them look good!
I have an old oak TV tray just crying for a makeover.
Thanks for the inspiration.
