I'm adding more goodies
to my Christmas Corner!
I'm going neutral.
I love the restful color palette,
but it's quite the challenge for me
to keep from adding a blast of red.
Well, today it's cream, white, gray, and brown
with lots of twinkly lights.
I made the stocking board out of fence board.
I double loaded my brush with Early American Stain
and Black Semi-Gloss Paint.
I brushed a gloss acrylic sealer on the boards
and added some $2 hooks from Hobby Lobby.
I like the rustic old barn look,
especially the dark contrast with all of the light coordinates.
Then!
What about this chair that I found in the trash!
All trendy now with the chevron fabric,
natural caned back,
white chippy paint,
and on casters, ta boot.
It's a squatty little chair , but so inviting,
especially now with the sweet woodland deer pillow.
Now that was a fun paint project I have been wanting to try.
You should see Craftberry Bush watercolors.
She paints a beautiful watercolor buck that you can
purchase at her site.
I sketched mine with pencil and then used
watered down acrylics on canvas for my pillow.
I have more woodland craft ideas I hope to get to!
You can find how to make the
Merry Christmas sign here.
Are you all getting ready to make
a little Christmas Nook?!
I don't have a mantel, so I have to create a space.
Have a great Thanksgiving Week!
Deb

Love, love, love that precious deer pillow. I've been thinking about doing some painted pillows. You have inspired me to give it a shot! All of your projects are just great!

I usually have neutral and this year I actually bought some red garland for a pop of color. lol... Your stocking board is great as is that amazing deer pillow. WOW. That chair definitely looks awesome. I had to look twice to see that it was the same chair!! I think I might have to make a stocking board as I don't have a mantel....yet!!
ReplyDeleteI love it! The neutrals are so peaceful and beautiful! Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteI just love the sign and the hooks holding the stockings underneath. Great focal point idea! Love that adorable deer pillow and the tags you used for the names on the stockings too. I might like to add tags to mine. Cute idea!
ReplyDeleteThe neutral scheme looks fantastic Deb! I know what you mean about it being hard to keep from adding the red! I don't know if I could do it... but I sure love how it looks!
ReplyDeleteI love what you did to that chair! What a difference paint makes!
ReplyDeleteThis will be the first Christmas that we are without a fireplace and mantel. This will be a great way to still hang all our stockings. Love the little name tags! So Cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the fact that you kept it neutral. This is beautiful! Who knew Christmas decorations Don't have to be red and green! Stopping by from diy Sunday Showcase.

ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous. Neutrals are a fave of mine but I agree it can be tempting to want to add a pop of color. That sign is amazing!!! Thanks for sharing at the Handmade Holiday Link Part :)
ReplyDeleteI love your little Christmas nook. The neutrals, the hand painted buck... the awesome garbage rescue (wow!!!). I am way, way behind on Christmas decorating. Thanksgiving squash and pumpkins are frozen on my front porch 'neath Christmas snow... Your vignette is inspiring.

I love all the really unusual things you do with paint and stain! I would never think to double load my brush like that with stain! It turned out gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!
