Chalkboard and Coffee Chair Design

Coffee Crush Here.

Chalkboard Love a close second.

So how happy is this to combine the two!

I'm taking this little old lovely...

and bringing her into the "Starbucks" era.

Dry brushing white on black.

Transferring chalked back to painted surface.

Shading with Raw Sienna.

and rubbing antiquing wax on the edges.

Because she needed a hip replacement,

I had to drill large sink holes

and then pilot holes with a smaller bit

to anchor the sides to the back with screws.

Then using mattress foam

and a coffee sack I reupholstered the chair seat.

You can find details on padding a chair seat

on my other blog posts (high gloss white) Here

 and (coastal chair) Here.

where to sit ....

or to sell.....

So a 1980's do goes 2013 trendy

with Chalkboard and Coffee.

Thanks for stopping by !

  11. I miss my espresso!! :) LOL I live 60 miles one day to the nearest Starbucks (small town midwest now) which is crazy for a Portland hometown girl.

The chair is just adorable and clever. Did you happen to keep or to sell?

Thanks for sharing with us, and it's always great to see creative minds at work. :)

  15. Oh Deb. It looks so great. I love the graphics, and the fabric you used for the seat goes perfectly. I'm sure you wouldn't have any trouble selling it. I'd snap it up so fast it would probably make your head spin!

  19. I have many people ask where I got my red and white stripe rug. It came from a small shop in Atchison, Kansas but they don't carry them anymore. Darn, I checked because I wanted a black one they had too!

  28. Gotta love art with a coffee theme! I absolutely adore your chair transformation. I'm visiting from Petticoat Junktion, and am now your newest follower. Also pinned this. My vote is to sit on it, not sell it. Looking forward to catching up on your posts.
